Vacation and Vacation Accrual

Regular and Probationary Full-Time Employees (and part-time exempt employees)

1 to 9 years - 80 hours/year - 6.67 hours/month

10 to 14 years - 120 hours/year - 10.00 hours/month

15 years or more - 160 hours/year - 13.33 hours/month

Regular part-time employees who are scheduled to regularly work 20 huors or more per week accrue vacation leave at the rate of four (4) hours for each month of continuous service with the City.  Part-time employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week do not accrue vacation leave.

Maximum Accumulation of Vacation Time

The maximum number of vacation hours an employee can accrue and carry over each year is 240.

Sick Leave Accrual and Benefits

Full-time exempt and non-exempt employees accrue sick leave at the rate of eight (8) hours for each full month of continuous service with the City.

Regular part-time employees who are scheduled to work 20 hours or more per week accrue sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours for each month of continuous service with the City.  Part-time employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week do not accrue sick leave.

Maximum Accumulation of Sick Leave

The maximum number of days an employee can accumulate from year to year is 480 hours, or sixty (60) working days.

Bereavement Leave

Regular full-time employees may receive absence with pay upon the death of a member of their "immediate family".  Upon approval, the employee will be excused for bereavement leave not to exceed three working days.
