Medical Insurance is provided through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. Employees are eligible to participate the first of the month following 30 days from your date of hire. City of Bridgeport contributes 100% of the premium for employees. The City offers each employee $200 per month to spend on benefits of his/her choice.
Employees have the option to add their dependents. Should an employee add dependents, the premium will be handled through the Section 125 Plan and deducted on a pre-tax basis. Proof of good health is not required.
Your enrollment must be completed on or before your effective date. If you do not enroll, you will have to wait for the next open enrollment period in September 2009 for an October 1, 2009 effective date.
