Dental insurance is provided through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. Employees are eligible to participate in the dental plan on the first of the month following 30 days from date of hire. Employees pays 100% of the cost of the plan for you and your dependents. The City offers each employee $200 per month to spend on benefits of his/her choice.
Employees have the option of adding their dependents. Should an employee add dependents, the premium will be handled through the Section 125 Cafeteria Plan and deducted on a pre-tax basis.
Your enrollment must be completed and turned in to your Human Resource Department on or before your effective date that you are eligible. If your enrollment is not completed or you choose not to elect dental coverage, you will not be eligible to enroll until the next open enrollment period in the month of September 2008 for an October 1, 2008 effective date.
